What’s Coming Next for CityBridge
What is Vision?
Vision is distinct from mission. If the mission describes the summit we are climbing toward, then vision describes where we are on the path and what steps we must take next. The mission never changes—our calling will always be “to call all people to be fully devoted followers of Jesus.” However, the vision can and should change as the church grows, matures, and responds to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Vision brings focus to what matters most right now as we move forward. It highlights areas where growth, renewal, or attention are needed and helps the church take clear, intentional next steps.
Our Next Season
Since joining CityBridge, Brad Kirby has been prayerfully seeking God’s guidance for how our church can continue to grow in faithfulness and impact. Together, we remain committed to Jesus’ call to make disciples (1 Thessalonians 4:1–2; Matthew 28:19–20).
In this next season, our focus is clear: becoming disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus. In the months ahead, we will lean into the final two parts of how we make disciples and the opportunities God has placed before us here in North Dallas:
Equipping the Church.
Engaging the City.
Equip the Church
What do we mean by equipping the church? Following Jesus does not require a seminary degree, but it does require growing in wisdom and understanding through God’s Word. We believe Scripture is meant to shape how we think, live, and follow Jesus every day (Ephesians 1:17).
As a church, we are committed to teaching the Bible clearly and faithfully, not just for information, but for transformation. This happens not only through Sunday gatherings but also through conversation, practice, and hands-on training that help people apply God’s Word to real life.
As part of the vision for this next season at CityBridge, our goal is to equip people with the confidence and tools they need to follow Jesus in every area of life, no matter the circumstance.
This will include classes on doctrine and theology, understanding the story of Scripture, how to share the gospel, and seeking Scripture first for answers to questions on daily life—culture, relationships, parenting, etc. We will also continue developing online and written resources to make this training accessible to everyone.
Engage the City
What do we mean by engaging the city? Following Jesus moves us outward. We are not equipped simply to gain knowledge, but to live out our faith through action, love, and service in the world around us.
God has placed us in Collin County for a purpose. As a church, we seek to share the hope of the gospel by serving our neighbors, caring for those in need, and showing Christ’s love in practical ways.
Engaging the city is the natural overflow of being equipped in God’s Word. Through initiatives like Inside Out Sundays, Connect Camps, the CityBridge Urgent Clinic, and other outreach efforts, we step beyond the walls of our building to meet people where they are and point them toward lasting hope and healing in Christ.
New CityBridge App
This summer, we will launch a brand-new CityBridge App! It will be your central hub to stay informed, register for ministries, and sign up to serve.
It will also include features that help a big church feel small—like a shared prayer board that lets you know when someone has prayed for you, and a church-wide Bible reading plan with weekly insights from our CityBridge teaching team.
A Redesigned CityBridge Website
This year, we will launch a new CityBridge website designed to work seamlessly with the CityBridge App. The updated site will make it easier to find events, teachings, and resources, while helping both members and guests clearly identify their next step in following Jesus.
New Equipping Classes
This year we are refining current classes and launching new Equipping Classes designed to help people build a strong foundation of following Jesus. It has never been and never will be about getting more knowledge, but it has always been and will always be about growing in affection and devotion for Jesus.
Through in-person classes, you will dive deep into theology, doctrine, the character and nature of God, the grand narrative of Scripture, and spiritual disciplines that will help you continue to live in response to what you learn.
New Video Resource
This fall, we will launch a new CityBridge video series from our Equipping team. Each episode will explore questions about Scripture, culture, and everyday life, helping people grow in biblical understanding and apply God’s Word with clarity and confidence.
Our hope is that it becomes a trusted resource as you follow Jesus—deepening your understanding of Scripture and equipping you to engage conversations with family, friends, and neighbors with wisdom and grace.
Inside Out Sundays
At CityBridge, we want the message of God’s Word and the gathering of God’s people to extend beyond the walls of a building. A few times each year, we will host Inside Out Sundays, where our regular Sunday gathering moves outdoors.
We will gather to worship, pray, and hear God’s Word together—and then we will scatter to serve the neighborhoods around us, meeting practical needs and sharing the love of Christ in tangible ways. These Sundays create a welcoming space for our community while sending our church into the city with purpose.
Evangelism Training
In 2026, CityBridge is working with E3 Partners to train every member of our church in how to develop a heart of compassion for the lost, build relationships with those far from God and then share the reason for the hope that lives within us: the good news of Jesus Christ!
Plan on joining us as a Community Group or individually this year as we Engage Our City for God’s glory and the advancement of His kingdom with our Evangelism Classes!
Connect Camps
This summer we are excited to partner with Connect Camps, an incredible ministry that we help us go further in on inviting and engaging our city for the mission of discipleship. For one week, July 6–10, our church is going to go all in on opening our entire campus to loving and sharing the gospel with hundreds of kids ages K-8th from around Collin County and connecting their families with the local church.
CityBridge Health Foundation
The CityBridge Urgent Care Clinic continues to be a powerful place for sharing the gospel and meeting tangible physical needs, with most patients open to hearing the good news of Jesus Christ.
As we step into 2026, please join us in praying for wisdom on opportunities to nurture ongoing relationships, particularly with those from other faith backgrounds who may find church intimidating.
Pray also for discernment as we explore ways to serve more patients through extended hours or new services, all while faithfully addressing staffing and volunteer needs.
