Spiritual Gifts Test

It's great that you're interested in your spiritual gifts! These gifts are special abilities from God, described in 2 Timothy 1:1-7 and other biblical passages, and are meant to build up Christ’s Church. It's important to know the difference between spiritual gifts, things you're naturally good at, and things you've learned. Discovering your spiritual gifts means trying out different ways to help others and seeing what feels right to you.

 

Where do I start?

Ultimately, the best way to find out your spiritual gifts is to start serving. As you serve more, you'll notice what you're good at and what makes you feel close to God. It's not just about thinking about your gifts, but actually using them to help people. And talking to your community group, friends, and other believers around you can also help you understand what gifts God has given you.

 

Take A Test

A spiritual gifts test is a helpful tool for you to explore their potential abilities. It's important to know that you can't fail this test! These assessments help us understand how God might use us based on our abilities and passions.

While tests don't directly tell us our spiritual gifts, they give us clues to follow. After taking the test, pray about the results, see if they match what you experience when you serve, and discuss them with others.

Spiritual Gifts Definitions

While the definitions on these gifts may vary slightly, here is how we would describe each of the gifts in the test above.

 

  • Organize and manage people, resources, and time for effective ministry.

  • Passion to advance the Gospel where it has not been heard.

  • Distinguish right from wrong, truth from error, and evaluate ideas with Scripture.

  • Motivate others to apply and act on Biblical principles.

  • Communicate the Gospel to unbelievers in a positive, non-threatening way.

  • Trust God for what cannot be seen and act on God’s promises despite the circumstance.

  • Generously contribute material resources or money for ministry.

  • Receiving and treating guests and strangers in a warm, friendly, generous way.

  • Understanding God’s truth and mysteries that come from His Word.

  • Clarify and communicate purpose and direction to accomplish a goal through people.

  • Detect hurt and empathize with those who are suffering; compassionate in crises.

  • Publicly communicate God’s word in an inspired, truthful way.

  • Recognize unmet needs and take the initiative to provide assistance.

  • Care for spiritual needs of a group and equip them for ministry.

  • Educate God’s people by clearly explaining and applying the Bible to promote learning.

  • Ability to understand and speak biblical truth in a way as to skillfully apply it to life situations with all discernment.
