Sarah Schmidt
Worship Coordinator
Hi, I’m Sarah! I was born and raised in Texas in a loving, Christ-centered home, and I grew up with a deep understanding of the Gospel. When I was twelve, after losing a childhood best friend, I fully surrendered my life to Christ. God used that season of grief to capture my heart and draw me closer to Him, and Ephesians 2:8 has remained an anchor for me—reminding me that salvation is a gift of grace.
I pursued my passion for worship and music throughout high school and continued to grow as a worship leader during my time at the University of Texas at Tyler, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a minor in Political Science. Through college, nursing school, and my early years as a pediatric registered nurse, God opened my eyes to the brokenness of this world and my own deep need for Jesus. He continued shaping my desire for worship ministry, and songwriting became a meaningful outlet during that season.
After graduating, I interned with a church in Spain and later worked as a full-time nurse in Arkansas. During that time, God clearly and continually stirred my heart toward ministry, which led me back to Texas to attend the CityBridge Institute (StoryVerse Institute)—a transformative season that strengthened my calling to worship leading, songwriting, and discipling young worship leaders. I’m grateful that I now get to live out that calling here at CityBridge.
At the heart of my ministry is a single passion: to create space for God’s presence to meet people, bringing hope, healing, and a deeper understanding of His love through worship.
When I’m not leading worship or writing music, you can usually find me spending time with friends and family, traveling, rock climbing, reading, practicing nursing, or enjoying my favorite vegetable—carrots!
