Back to the Garden

About Back to the garden

Back to the Garden takes us on a journey through the key gardens in God’s redemptive story. We begin in the Garden of Eden, where humanity first experienced perfect harmony with God. But sin marred that perfection, causing the loss of paradise. The story continues in the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus, in agony, chooses to face the cross for our redemption, setting the stage for the restoration to come.

Next, we move to the Garden Tomb, where Jesus’ resurrection marks victory over death and the beginning of new life for all who believe. This moment foreshadows the ultimate promise of restoration, as we look forward to the New Garden of Eden—a place of eternal peace where God dwells with His people, and sorrow and death are no more.

Through these gardens, we see the unfolding of God’s redemptive plan, from the loss of paradise to the victory of the cross and the hope of eternal restoration. Join us as we explore the significance of each garden and what it means for our lives today.

We will wrestle with questions such as:

  1. How did the Garden of Eden represent God’s perfect creation, and what was lost when sin entered the world?

  2. What does the Garden of Gethsemane reveal about Jesus’ obedience and His willingness to bear the cost of our redemption?

  3. How does the Garden Tomb symbolize victory over death and the new life offered through the resurrection?

  4. What is the significance of the New Garden of Eden, and how does it shape our longing for the restoration of all things?

“Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign forever and ever.” — Revelation 22:1-5
