CityBridge Membership Covenant
Having trusted in Christ alone as my Lord and Savior, and being in agreement with the Mission, Vision, Values, Beliefs, and Governance of CityBridge Community Church, I now am called to unite with the CityBridge family. In doing so, I commit myself to the Lord and to the other members of the family to protect our unity, share in, serve, and support the ministry of my church family through:
Living Authentically...
by living life as a fully devoted follower of Christ (Luke 9:23).
by following the leadership in submitting myself to the care and correction of leadership should the need arise (Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 5:1-5; Matthew 18:15-18; 1 Corinthians 5:1-12).
Being Bible-Based...
by committing myself to read, understand, and apply the Bible (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 119:9-11; Matthew 7:24-27; John 14:21-26; James 1:22).
by affirming the inspiration, infallibility, and authority of God’s Word, as well as the other core doctrines found in CityBridge’s Statement of Beliefs (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Living in Community...
by attending faithfully (Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 2:19).
by warmly welcoming those who visit CityBridge and committing myself to community with those who attend (Romans 15:7).
by having a community group that will know me and help me as I seek to love God, love believers, and love unbelievers (Proverbs 18:1; Proverbs 27:17; Ecclesiastes 4:9-10; 1 Corinthians 12:26-27; Galatians 6:1-2; Hebrews 3:13; Hebrews 10:24-25).
by dealing biblically with conflict and refusing to gossip (Proverbs 18:8; Matthew 5:23-25; Matthew 18:15).
Growing as a Disciple...
by availing myself to the tools and resources of the church which are designed to further my understanding of and deepen my commitment to applying God’s Word (Ephesians 4:11-13).
by praying for the health and impact of CityBridge (Colossians 4:2; 1 Timothy 2:1-2).
by serving others in ministry (1 Peter 4:10).
by giving cheerfully to CityBridge as God has graciously given to me (Romans 8:32; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7; Philippians 4:19).
by annually filling out my Membership Assessment (1 Corinthians 12; Ephesians 2:19-22; Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 5:2).
Engaging Missionally...
by developing relationships with the unchurched, de-churched, dead-churched and unmoved (Luke 19:10).
by praying for the salvation of non-believers with whom I have a relationship (Romans 10:1).
by preparing myself to give a “ready defense” for my faith based on God’s Word (1 Peter 3:15).
by sharing my story of grace with others (Romans 1:16).
