Howdy! My name is Laura, and I am a born-and-raised Texan. I grew up as one of six kids in a high-control, legalistic religious environment where faith was measured by performance. As a result, I came to see God as harsh, critical and distant.

At seven years old, while watching a film called Jesus during a small home gathering, I heard the Gospel clearly for the first time and trusted Christ as my Savior. The way God used a simple piece of media to reach an isolated little girl has profoundly shaped my passion for using storytelling and media to help others meet Him too.

I studied History and English at Texas A&M (Gig ’Em!) and later earned a Master’s in Sport Management. I moved to Dallas and joined CityBridge in 2020, where I began volunteering in Kids Ministry and Tech Arts. I had the amazing opportunity to be part of the CityBridge Institute class in 2025, through which the Lord gently rewrote my understanding of who He is, replacing fear and legalism with the joy of knowing Him as a loving, steadfast Father. I joined the staff team as Communications Coordinator in 2025, where I now get to steward stories of God’s faithfulness and help our church share the hope of the Gospel with beauty, clarity and joy.

In my spare time, I love cheering on the Aggies, traveling, reading, hiking my way through the U.S. National Parks, spending time with my family and community group, and serving with middle school girls in our Student Ministry.
