LETTER FROM THE ELDERS

As elders, we can’t think of a better way to round the corner into 2025 than by celebrating how God has been transforming people in our midst (2 Peter 1:13), which the following pages certainly highlight. This past year we have witnessed you – the church – faithfully fulfilling our calling to be the church in our homes, our building, and our surrounding cities, making it evident that “God’s at work here”. We also want to evaluate how we’re doing in our core mission to glorify God by calling all people to be fully devoted to Christ. It is our desire that each of you be even more passionately connected to our mission as you excel still more in areas of faithfulness (1 Thessalonians 4:10), including serving, giving generously, living authentically in community, and boldly sharing your faith with the lost.

OUR FOCUS:

ENGAGING OUR CITY. CONNECTING PEOPLE AND STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY. DISCIPLING FAMILIES. ENGAGING OUR CITY.

LEAD PASTOR TRANSITION

CityBridge is embarking on an important season of leadership transition as our current Lead Pastor, Kyle Kaigler, steps into a newly defined role as Director of Engagement. This decision comes after months of prayerful consideration and unity among Kyle and the elders, who believe the church will be best served by a Lead Pastor with skills more attuned to the growing needs for organizational leadership and teaching since our launch as an independent church in 2021. Kyle’s new role will allow him to focus on his gifts and passions for exhortation, pastoral leadership, and shepherding, enabling him to lead our body missionally in engaging with the lost, welcoming guests, and connecting with the community. Kyle and Tresha remain deeply committed to our church family and are excited to continue serving alongside us as Kyle remains on staff and as an elder.

To move forward, we are beginning the search for a new Lead Pastor who will guide our church in teaching God’s word, leading staff, casting vision, and shepherding the congregation. This process will include partnering with a trusted third-party search firm to help us identify and evaluate candidates both within and outside our network. Candidates will be rigorously assessed to ensure alignment with our doctrinal statement, a strong record of exegetical teaching, significant pastoral experience, and organizational leadership capabilities, among other qualifications. The elders are inviting input from staff and members throughout this process, ensuring that we collectively seek wisdom and discernment to appoint the right individual for this crucial role. We anticipate the transition process will take approximately four to six months, with a period of overlap between Kyle and the new Lead Pastor to ensure a smooth handoff.

As we step into this new chapter, we encourage every member of CityBridge to actively support this process through prayer and participation. Please pray for wisdom and guidance for the elders, for the staff and body to prepare for this transition, and for the Lord to raise up the right leader to join us in advancing His kingdom. As always, each member plays a vital role in fulfilling our mission to make disciples and glorify God. We ask you to continue giving generously of your time, talent, and treasure for His purposes. Together, let us remain steadfast in our calling, trusting the Lord to guide us as we continue to grow in faith, community, and missional engagement.

PRAY WITH US.

  • Pray our response to God’s greatness would be a humility in how we live, and a heart to serve Him and others at every opportunity.

  • Pray the body at CityBridge would be known as a church who serves one another, their neighborhoods, and and the communities around them.

  • Pray the CityBridge body would be generous with its time, talent, and treasure and use those resources for the glory of God and edification of Christ and His church.

  • Pray we would be humble in how we handle conflict, checking the log in our own eye, always owning our part, and seeking and granting forgiveness where appropriate.

  • Pray we would take advantage of the privilege to spend time alone with the God of the universe listening and applying His Word and guidance to our lives and the lives of others.

  • Pray our body would grow in its ability to trust God in all circumstances.

PARTNER WITH US.

We are grateful for the way that you have partnered with us in 2024 to advance the mission of the church, calling all people to be fully devoted followers of Christ. We measure our success by our ability to be and make disciples. Our goal is to steward the resources that God has entrusted us with to this end. It is the generosity of the body of Christ that has allowed us to have a facility and the financial resources to care for, equip, disciple, train, and send out members of God’s family to do the work of ministry over this past year.

Our budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, is $4.2 million. We are funded entirely through the generous giving of our CityBridge body. While our body faithfully contributes to the mission all throughout the year, approximately 25% of our annual giving is received through the months of December and January each year.

As you consider your next steps of faithfulness, we ask that you:

  1. Discuss the topic of financial stewardship with your community group so that we may grow as a body in this area, viewing as an opportunity to worship of Lord.

  2. Assess ministry giving opportunities wisely so that you can cheerfully give as God has graciously given to you.

  3. Consider partnering with CityBridge financially as we labor together to live out the Great Commandment and Great Commission in our community.
