Amy Troutman
OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
I was born and raised in Orange County, CA, and although I accepted Christ in junior high, I struggled for years to truly live a life that honored Him, often feeling like I was living a double standard. After graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in Print Journalism and Public Relations and a minor in Business, I dove into the high-tech PR world. Despite achieving early worldly success, I felt completely lost and out of control, rooting my identity in everything but Christ. Seeking a service-oriented change, I pursued a Master’s of Education from Concordia University after a clear calling to "help kids,” lightbulbs come on, following in the footsteps of my teaching parents.
In 2010, following the collapse of my marriage, I transitioned from a reading coach to working full-time in ministry as a 6th grade teacher at a private Christian school. This season, though messy and contradictory, became a profound time of personal growth where the Lord taught me about His character and what He thought of me, right alongside my students. During this time of restoration, I met Jason—my real-life Southern farm boy. We blended our families, including my daughter Emma and his son Jax, and later welcomed our miracle daughter, Addison, creating a beautiful, albeit imperfect, family life.
In 2021, we stepped out in faith and moved from California to Texas. After a season of closed doors and rejection in my job search—including my Plan B job—the Lord clearly told me, "Just wait." His perfect plan was revealed shortly thereafter when the Operations Coordinator position at CityBridge became available, graciously calling me back into ministry. Today, Jason and I are living, breathing examples of God’s faithfulness and pursuit of broken hearts. He has redeemed my bad choices and distorted views, turning my life into a story of grace, love, and forgiveness, which we hold onto as we raise our blended family and serve together.
