Teaching Truth

  • Jesus has the power to give us what we need because He is God.

  • A miracle is something wonderful only God can do.

Questions to Ask Your Child

  • What did the little boy have to give Jesus? Was this a lot to share with a big crowd?

  • What happened when the disciples started to hand out the food?

  • What do you think the disciples thought about Jesus when they saw the food multiplying?

Family Activity

Have your child help you bake a loaf of bread or cookies and find a neighbor or friend to share it with just like the boy in the story shared with Jesus. You can attach a verse like John 6:35 or Psalm 34:8 or a simple note saying, “We celebrate God’s provision in our lives & today we celebrate a friend like you!”

Wrap-Up

With each lesson, help your child apply what they have learned by asking, “What do you think God wants us to learn from this story?” If you get stuck with finding the answer, refer to the weekly Teaching Truths.
